I am searching for the details of Elizabeth Berridge who married John Berridge about 1800, probably in London or possibly in Nottinghamshire. He came originally from Kingston-on-Soar in Nottinghamshire. Any help with them or their forebears would be appreciated.

Hi Robert,

Do you know what was Johns occ, as there is a John Berridge occ groom in Westminster born abt 1801 not born in county also there is a Elizabeth with him born abt 1811 not born in county. The 1841 census dosnt give household relationships.

Did they have any children, if born onwards from Jul/Aug/Sept 1837 (start of civil registration) then the birth certificate would give the mothers maiden name, before that would be down to parish records.

Further to your reply, Henry Addison Arden was a groom in Westminster. Yes, I think he had children, or possibly only one, in which case he's likely to be George Berridge born 26.4.1808. George Berridge became a Queen's Messenger, then married 6.2.1837, Elizabeth Mary Lindfield, daughter of Mary Hardy who was niece of Admiral Hardy of Nelson fame.
