Thanks, Amanda..

Any reference to Perram, Perrim etc, as a middle name is worth a look, Elizabeth's gran's maiden name = Perrim.

Thanks, Em'..

1871 fits with the marriage..

Yeah, her father, George still not seen before and after his marriage in 1849..

According to the 1861 Census Mary is married but by 1871 she is a widow.

The only death I can find for a George Thomas in Hull is for a baby who died in 1864. However there are a few deaths at sea for a George Thomas but unfortunately don't really give enough detail to be certain which one is correct. One was paid out of the shipping line office in Glasgow and one in Liverpool so I think they can be discounted. However there is one entry which gives an age and could possibly be your man.

A George Thomas aged 44 died at sea of Fever in 1868 aboard a ship called India , point of departure down as Dock Street. Unfortunately there are a lot of Dock Streets in various ports so he may not have been out of Hull and no other info is given as to where he was from. This may be a total red herring but just thought I'd mention it.

I'll check my notes, I don't think I have that one... got a few others noted from the 1860's, some checkable, others not

There is a bit of a mystery also re a son b. c1870 in the 1871 census with mother and siblings, Milan or a similar name, never found a reg of bap for him. In one census he is named William, may be an error, because he has a sibling, William aged 10 in 1871.

Geoff

I can't find a birth reg or baptism for him either. In 1871 he is Millian, 1n 1881 Milon and 1891-1911 he is Milan. His death is registered in Sculcoates in 1925 as Milan Thomas aged 55.

Thanks, Em'..

Fortunately Milan/Millian doesn't impact in any way on this line, but nice to know being a main line. Sibling, Henry P Thomas b. 1858 is my link.
