6x deaths in NSW index for an Ellen Wade.

??
Thomas William Gates, Free Settler "Admiral Lyon" 1857
Birthdate: July 29, 1845
Birthplace: Kent, UK
Death: September 29, 1927 (82)
Immediate Family:
Son of William Gates, Free Settler "Admiral Lyon" 1857 and Ellen Gates - Wade - Pain, Free Settler "Admiral Lyon" 1857

That tree seems to indicate Ellen married Wade and Pain. ??

No death in NSW index 1858 - 1860 for a Thomas Wade.

Thanks gibbo.

That may be on film at SLNSW but not sure if getting the image will help.

So far I can't find a notice in Trove for the 1860 marriage. If it happens to be CofE St Peter Campbelltown then it should be on film at SLNSW. If it's not CofE then will be difficult to find on film.

Seems to be no other death for the Ellen who married Thomas Wade and no death for him 1858 - 1860. Divorce index does not start until 1873.

David Doust, father of Alderman Horace Doust, came from England in 1857, and his voyage to Australia was full of trials and adventures, suffering unenviable experiences. Twice was he shipwrecked, and his third ship arrived at Port Jackson in the midst of a storm that is recorded in the annals of Australia. On his first attempt the ship 'Boanergas' was wrecked on sailing from England; the second ship, 'Vocales,' met a similar fate. Still he embarked on a third sailing ship, and after over six months on the wide seas entered Sydney Heads the day after the wreck of the 'Dunbar,' at the Gap on South Head, on the 21st August, 1857. David Doust worked on the construction of the first high level wooden bridge over the Nepean River at Camden, which was completed and opened for traffic in 1861. Mr. Doust then went into the grocery and general merchant trade, and in 1863 took over Lustard's store, which in those days was the leading general store of the town. A reproduction of this old store is given below. Business prospered under David Doust's management, and in 1884 extensive building operations were entered into, doubling the size of the shop.

He married Ann Tolhurst 14 Nov 1853 Gouldhurst Kent – she died 21 Aug 1901 age 70 – Trove

2nd marriage – 1902 NSW to Susan S Bethel
