Emigration to America

I am trying to find out if my ancestor HILDA THERSBY or HILDA MADDOX travelled to live in America. She was born in 1914 in Dewsbury and married Robert Thersby, possibly remarried Charles P Maddox. There is also a son Brian Thersby b 1934 who may have also gone to America. They would have gone after 1934. Can anyone also tell me how would I find out if Hilda Thersby (nee Tolan) divorced her husband Robert Thersby, as I am sure she remarried Charles P Maddox but can't find a death for her 1st husband Robert, so I was wondering if she may have divorced.

Any help would be great. Seem to have spent years trying to sort this lady's life story out.
