My EDWARD EVANS b 1854 died 11/12 January 1899 in a train wreck at Penmaenmawr on the LNWR . Any one ever hear of this event ? Evidently his train came from Manchester to Holyhead and entered the tunnel at Penmaenmawr and the sea had was away the track bed on the far side of the tunnel and inspite of attempts to warn the train it canme through at speed. It was a goods train and there were 2 survivors but EVANS & his stoker were drowned.
Any information would be appreciated
Thank you
Paul
