The easiest way would be to apply for the two certificates, you have the reference.

If on the other hand they were CoE marriages if you know the town(s) you could search the parish registers for the entries.

Yes, that's when there is no other way.

I have 5000 individuals in my tree and I'm only three years into the research. I am hoping to exhaust all avenues before the event gets added to the list of certificates to purchase. If I simply put them all on the list I'd need 50,000 pounds.

I am hoping some members here have access to some newspapers, or some parish records, or to some sites that have records on-line, before I say that the only way left is for me to purchase the certificate.

I purchased 6 certificates just before the April price rise so I'm not against taking that option.

The second marriage of Simeon ball took place on the 10th. February 1862 at Golborne St. Thomas parish church to Betty Arnold 45, widow, daughter of Thomas Sutton. Register of marriages 1849-1880 page 89 entry 178 as shown on Lancs. opc. Also England and Wales free bmd 1862 January-march quarter. District Leigh vol. 8c page 177.
