Ernest Shaw - help or advice wanted

Hello,

I have a Ernest Shaw, on his marriage cert. it states he was born in Lincolnshire England in 1869. His father was Johnathon Shaw and his mother was Mary Shaw nee Dobson. Because he married in New Zealand and died there I am trying to ascertain when he left England. He may have come to NZ on his own. My query is can anyone help re info of any kind from 1869. Census, electoral rolls etc. I have tried but nothing is coming up. As always any help much appreciated.

This is Hertfordshire which agrees with shipping record not Lincolnshire

Where did he marry in NZ and where did he die?

He married in Timaru, South island of NZ (Have the cert) which states he was born in Lincolnshire England, 13th Nov. 1894. He died same area (woodbury), have pic of headstone with details aged 84. Thank you

Cant understand why Ernest didn't know where he was born when he married. Thank you for your time taken to look all this info up for me it fills in lots of holes. Best genealogy day today lol

I could say he lived in Lincolnshire but at 7 mo I doubt the family lived in that county at all. It does not border Hertfordshire.

I've not used this site so don't know what it's like or what it has.
