Hello and welcome to FHUK.

Do you know when Euphemia married George?

Do you know the names and place and date of birth of any of their children?

Exactly what are you seeking?

It will help if you post everything you know, even bits that are 'assumed' from family history and not yet confirmed.

Regards,

Dave

Possibly Euphemia Badger aged 15 in 1841 census born East Lothian.
Not with her family, maybe a servant for Clark family in East Lothian, Innkeepers?
1851 census New Row, Tranent, George coal miner and Euphemia both 25, there is a David Badger 6yrs, Archd Rutherford 2yrs.
Also James Badger 19yrs.

Euphemia is on scottish census's from 1841 (as Badger) to 1891 (as Rutherford) I think some of the transciptions are wrong, but without being able to look at the originals I can't check.
As Ozn has posted, she looks to be a servant in 1841 but although not with her parents, they are David and Janet based on James 19 on 1851 census, being 9 on 1841.
Euphemia's husband was George and his parents are Archibald and Margaret.
ask if you want anything expanding.

Thanks Dave, as you said, it's difficult when you can't look at the original census.
Good find for parents.
Young Archie 27 is in 1871 census agr labr Blegbie East Lothian married to Ann.

hi again, sorry for taking so long to reply, i should have been more clear with my last post, im researching georgina rutherford born tranent 1852, georgina married richard black in townhill fife 1880 her marriage cert shows her mother and father as euphemia born 1826 george born 1825 from tranent, the 1881 census shows euphemia/george also in townhill, if you go back the census records there is no trace of georgina being a daughter to euphemia/george,what im trying to find out is what is the connection between georgina and euphemia/george, regards billy

Hi,

I've not found Georgina with parents, but looking at the 1861 census transcription they have a daughter Janet born about 1852. Have you found Janet on later cenuses.

hi julie, thanks for replying to my post,i have checked the 1871 census janet does not show on it,as you say janet was born 1852 as was georgina, im maybe way off the mark here, but maybe janet changed her name to georgina ?, georgina gave birth to illigimate daughter in 1872 naming her janet, one other thing i found strange, georgina married richard black 1880 they had a son richard who later married and had 5 daughters,2nd daughter born they named georgina,4th daughter born also shows on birth ce rt as georgina, but the name janet has been added, also on birth cert says clarification of childs name see reg of cor entries,as i say i might be wrong with my thoughts on this, but strange how janet seems to have disappeared and georgina appears. regards billy
