WEST WALLSEND.
Mr. Ezekiel Ball, an old and respected resident of West Wallsend, died at his residence, Wallace-street, on Tuesday. Deceased has been alling for several years. He was born in Shropshire, England, and was in his 71st year. About 33 years ago he came to Minmi as a miner, and for the past 17 years lived in West Wallsend. He joined the Ancient Order of Druids in 1882 and has been a member ever since. His wife predeceased him about three years ago, and he leaves a family of four sons and three daughters, Mr. Thomas Ball, and Mrs. C. Ellis, of Minmi, Mr. Ezekiel Ball, of Cessnock, Mrs. J. Bentley, of Holmesville, Mrs. W. Roberts, Mr. E. Ball, and Mr. H. Ball, of West Wallsend. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon in the West Wallsend cemetery. Mr. T. Smith, of the Methodist Church, conducted the ceremony. The family were the recipients of many expressions of sympathy.
