Hi Tony,

I'm looking at these names for a friend and William and Florence were her G Grandparents as well. Her Grandparents were Robert and Barbara (her Mum's parents) and she remembers them all well. It would be really good if you would share the info that you have. Thanks for getting in touch it has made her day! :)

Regards

GAynor,
Your friend will be my father's (Tommy Allen) cousin.

Going backThomas Allen married gertrude MAy Williams in 1900.

Gertrude MAy was the daughter of Martha Willams (nee BAll) and William George Williams, both from Garndiffaith in Monmouthshire, married in 1868
(Copy from register: 15/8/1868, William George, Williams, x, 21, B, collier, otp, Benjamin Williams, collier, Martha, Ball, , 19, Spin, , otp, Luke Ball, collier, Luke Ball, Thomas Nelmes x, , B, , , , , , , , , , , ,)

William was born about 1847, the son of Benjamin Williams, both colliers.

MArtha BAll age 18 in 1868, was the daughter of Luke ball and his wife Margaret, nee Jones, who father was James Jones

Copy from Register: 15/9/1849, Luke, Ball, , 21, B, miner, otp, Job Ball, blacksmith, Margaret, Jones, , 23, Spin, , otp, James Jones, dead, Joseph Wayman, James Saunders, , B, , , ,

Luke was borm in Winford, about 10m south of Bristol where is father Job was Parish Clerk and Blacksmith. He was born in 1801 and died after falling over after coming out of a pub in 1850. He was married three times, first Mary Broad, Lukes mother, died in 1831, then to HAnnah Weaver and then to Charlotte Wilcox in 1837.

Job was the son of Richard Ball b 1749 d 1814 and Mary James 1756 - 1637 Job was the youngest of their 12 children. Richard was the son on John BAll and Jenny Williams married in 1746, John was born in 1726 and died in 1784

Johns parents were William 1690 - 1741 and MAry Ball nee Ballock

Williams parents were William Ball 1670 to 1745 and HAnnah Ball nee Beale 1670 to 1744

Robert Wallace and Barbara Allen had five children, Stan, Ruby, Peggy, Barbara and Robert. I remember their mum, my dad's Auntie Barbara having met her at different times.

Her father Thomas b. 1878 was the son of John Thomas Allen b 1852 and Barbara Ann Wilkinson b 1849 (Her father -I think his name was John but I would have to check, was born in Bangalore India I feel he was army or missionary? )

John was the son of Thomas Allen b 1820 and Elizabeth Berryb 1825. Thhomas was from Bottom Moor Lancashire, they married at Dukes Alley Chapel in Bolton on 29 April 1847. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Berry from Halifax

Hope this is of use

Regards

Tony

Thank you so much Tony. You have obviously worked hard to get all that information and I'm sure it will be appreciated. I'll pass it on and let you know if she can add anything else.
