Family of Cornelius McGuiness

Have recently received some information about the above (born about 1816 Kings County) and his wife, Margaret Dunne (born about May 1826 Meelick, Galway). We are trying to establish what work William Thomas did (born 1858 and baptised in Mountmellick Parish) prior to emmigrating to Australia in Nov 1884. William is my great grandfather on my mother's side.

Also wondering how we can obtain copies of Parish records.

I think this is correct (we have some Irish souls on here who will correct me if I'm wrong).

King's County, now Offaly and Queen's County, now County Laois...

There is this in Mountmellick (RC), Co. Laois..

Hi your info is correct as far as we know re William arriving on the MerkRa. Also about the baptism. I have had a number of comments on my ancestry.com.au site regarding the family of Cornelius. Can anyone go onto the roots Ireland site to get information? Thanks for looking
