It looks as if FTM will continue under new ownership - Software MacKiev who appear to have written the Mac version is to take over FTM.
Also Rootsmagic have under taken to connect the Rootmagic software with Ancestry by the end on 2016.

It looks as if Ancestry have taken notice of all their users!
