Has anyone noticed a problem with fs or is it just me (or my computer)

Usually when doing a search I enter the person's name, the date period I want to search then I go down to Country, hit E then select England from the list that appears. Then I go to the box to the right of that and select the county I want to search from the list which normally appears. Now I can't. The right hand box says State or Province and is empty. Even if I type in the county I want I get every entry for England. This is obviously a pain in the nether regions if you are searching for a common name.

Anyone else come across this problem?

I was using it earlier but I never noticed it, but then I always type in the county which seems to be in a memory on my computer these days, so I only get as far a the first letter and counties beginning with that letter show in a list.
This probably doesn't help

Glad to hear that it's not just me then. I'm not overly computer literate so thought I might have hit a button I shouldn't have.

DaveHam9 "I've never used the State or Province box. "
After you put in England we don't have that ,but that's the fault we have just now. Saying that my Ancester should have came up. Just been into FS ,and it's the same as yesterday. Of course it's owned my Ancs now.

Just pointing out that I can't say that it's changed because I don't know what it was ever like.

I just select the country but not in the Country box. If I try to change the country in that box I can't because I've locked myself into that country by choice.

I give up. I do agree with Benny though, none of the so-called improvements they have made actually seem to have improved the site and there is definitely data missing. I have several people whom I noted as having been found on fs who aren't there now. Hadn't realised records had a shelf life!

If you type in an exact search it often says "nothing found" and if you do not type in exact search but give a forename, surname and county and date range it shows many records that are vaguely similar and throws the odd relevant result among many irrelevant ones.

For instance you type in "William Tanner" and "Sussex" and you get many results which say "W Tanner" or "W T" or even a result where the surname is just given.

It's going from bad to worse. Now if I put in England as the country it comes up "No records available", no matter who I am looking for. If I leave the country blank I get records for the world!

All I can suggest, if you haven't done this already, is to clear your History, Browsing data & Cookies from your device.

If you have 'bookmarked' (favourites) web sites that you use for ease of access to them, sometimes they do not update themselves. Delete these from your favourites.
Then you can save the most recent bookmarks back to your favourites, once you have re-visited your 'favourite' web site, or sites.

I have had to do this quite a few times in the last few months, and Ancestree being the main culprit.

That's the view I am getting as well but nothing seems to want to work. I'll have a go at deleting history, cookies etc.
I do have fs bookmarked for ease of use but even if I Google the site and access it that way there are still the same problems.
