Back again with the 1839 female group and I have few days left to apply for funding to put a plaque to one of the women who started the Female Radical Association.

The only one I have an address for that is still standing is Sarah Foden wife of Peter Foden but I know very little about her other than she was secretary of the Association.

I know they lived in 28 Bank Street (not sure if it was called that at the time) and that he was a Baker. He was arrested in 1839, but while on bail absconded a couple of months from when she became secretary. They had 2 children but one died (while he was finally jailed) called Fergus O'Connor Foden at age of 18 months. The other child was called Wallace and born in 1842.

After jail they returned to Peter's home town Staleybridge then to Doncaster and finally settling in St Louis Missouri USA where Peter died in 1873. Another child Mary was born in USA. They are in the USA census records in 1860 and 1870.
