FHUK Tool Bar Threads

Hi everyone,
Is it just me and my p.c or is everyone getting multi entries of threads on the fhuk tool bar. In the last 3 days, its shown almost 100 threads, but only 9 were original, the rest were repeated over and over. When you add these to the spammers that have found us, its becoming very frustrating. Are others having the same problems?

Hi Pat,
I have'nt had that problem myself, could it be that some of the posts were for different census years? I have seen the same post in say 1801, 1901 etc,and at first glance it could appear that the post had repeated, that is the only explanation I have. Has this happened to other members?

Hi,

I have just checked my feeds in the FHUK Toolbar at work, I had 110 unread posts and checked a quite few of them. One or two were dead posts (Due, as you say to the spammers - which hopefully is resolved by us deleting them (thats why they are dead! )).

I have now marked them all as read (Use the Open envelope icon!).

I will keep on eye on over the coming days to see what happens.

Anyone else having a problem with the RSS feeds via the FHUK Toolbar??

No problems with my feed box - I thought mine wasn't working nothing in it for a while, then just three in yesterday

no it still seems to be a problem, take today (Monday) 20 feeds showing in tool box, which only 7 were 'original' topics, the others were just repeats of exactly the same threads, including the spammer. Just one of those things, maybe its just the way I have my p.c set up if no one else is having this difficulty

What browser are you using?
When I use firefox on a machine running Vista the tool bar only updates when the PC crashes it works fine on IE on windows XP.

Another thing you could try is refreshing the toolbar.

On the far left of the toolbar is the familyhistory logo, with a small drop down arrow - click this then select - Refresh Toolbar

Give it a go and see if that helps.

Sorry we here at FHUK have no control of the toolbar - We chose it as we thought it would be a good help hopefully for everyone!

hi Edward and Dave,
thanks for your interest in my problem with the tool bar. Again today (Sat 17th) it showed 45 feeds of which only 7 were originals, the others were duplicates. I'm using vista so perhaps that could be the prob as suggested. I'm sure there is nothing wrong wth the tool bar as such Dave, it is a great help and a handy quick reference for whats happening on the site, its just frustrating when these problems arise. No one else seems to be having trouble though, so perhaps its time to put this one to bed. I will try the refreshing tool though and see what happens. Thanks to all who have shown an interest in this topic,

after saying no problems on the 7th, mines the opposite, haven't had any new feeds since then, I'm using Vista too. Like the toolbar though, it's much easier to click on a link
