Not 100% sure it is Potter but the first word is Garden. As for the POB it could be Hants or Hunt or even Herts and the place is N Know.... but I can't find it in any of those counties.

1841 has N for both James and Catherine yet 1851 has Benington, Herts for her.

If the place was not known it usual to put N. K. and not N Known?

The two are not the same. Seems to be Herts for Catherine but the word is longer for James.

Looks like Hants to me. James died 1857.

Garden Potter does not seem to make sense.

His mother is probably Mary.
