George and Arthur are brothers so did they marry sisters?

There is no Florence and no Elizabeth A in that tree so we have two families. One in Kiama area and one in St George area of NSW.

Looks as though we have a John HAMILTON who married an Isabella and a William John (sometimes just John or just William) who married an Isabella. So where is this other marriage?

Thanks for looking.

If Florence L born 1869 was the right one then either her birth or her death reg has an error because parents don't match.

Also there is nothing in her marriage reg or death reg or death notice or burial record or Electoral Rolls or the birth reg or death reg for her 8 children that indicates my Florence had any middle name.


I'm still wondering if 2 brothers married sisters.

Have you got Arthur Stimson's parents as:
William Stimson b. 1828 England - d. 1902 Sydney, NSW. Arrival 1849
Elizabeth Pammenter b. 1831 Swaffham, Camb. England - d. 1904 Sydney

I haven't tried to validate these yet.

It is looking like 2 brothers married 2 sisters.

In the same family, Arthur has a brother, George Stimson (see also your earlier post) marrying an Elizabeth Hamilton (1883).

There was also a George b. 1855 - d. 1856. the George above was b. 1857.

I've rechecked the death and funeral notices for George and Arthur and they don't mention the brother or sister-in-law. Limited to spouse, children and grandchildren.

Also, brother Henry married Eva FURNER and sister Eliza Ann married Walter Charles FURNER - the Furners are siblings.

Yeah, I suspect those trees, whilst 2 especially are fairly well sourced, may have lost their way a little.

The Hamilton girls may well be from 2 separate families. Indeed, whilst the trees have Florence's "birth details" they don't actually give them a proper entry in the tree

Also, interesting that none of them give Arthur and Florence's children, apart from 1 tree and gives:
Walter Stimson, b. 1896 NSW. On checking...

Walter Eric was the 4th of 8 as far as I can tell.

So we are in need of two more marriages.

I've checked the trees on the Hamilton side now and irrespective of the Isabel and John/William variants, there are no marriages to suit, apart from those that have already been established.
