The new records above have been a great help to me. My ancestor Sarah Stewart was baptised at the Wesleyan Chapel at Carver Street, Sheffield in 1833. I knew her mother was Elizabeth Burdett but all the trees on Ancestry have copied each other and put Elizabeth as daughter to Martha and Amos Burdett. I thought a George and Mary more likely as the name Amos didn't appear anywhere but couldn't be sure. The baptism of Sarah has mother's parents! George and Mary.

Now do I bother trying to tell any of these people or just leave it! Am I allowed to feel just a wee bit smug

You can try. That's 1 of the reasons I made my tree public. There are people that just will not believe your records .Even someone related to my 3rd G Grandmother ,and she asked me to get her poor relief records. I have looked just now at her tree ,she has changed it again trying to wriggle out that Gilbert Walker is Gilbert McDonald, but at the same time has put in the issue from the 1841 Census and their marrages and deaths that I found after finding them on the 1841 Census .

Estimated Birth Yearabt 1771

I know Ellie, one of the Stewart researchers had two Elizabeths to Amos and Martha and when I asked him if he thought perhaps it was wrong said that he had looked it over and was quite happy that they had two who made it through to marriage with the same name.

You just have to give up!
