Curioser and curioser. Apparently he was transported to Bermuda. It says he was in gaol for the theft of a watch. It said his manner was respectful. Presumably he said please when he took the watch.

Really suprised he got sent there...just can't find any info on him at all.

Interesting link about the swing riots...it was a blessing for some of the men sent abroad..some went on to live a better life in there adopted countries.

The strange coincidence is 30 years later my great grandmother was born in Boaz Bermuda, a child born to an Army Sargeant from Maidstone whose family were also mainly boatmen but in Kent. The family moved to Wigan and that child's daughter married a Prescott, a descendant of Ezekiels Brother Elijah.
