Francis was born 11 Oct 1757, Scotland, Cathness, Thurso - d. 1813 Welland, On., Canada. Parents Donald Mc Kay b. 07 Apr 1732, Watten, Caithness, & Elspet Sinclair. He had 2 brothers William b. 06 Jun 1762, Thurso, Caithness. And George b. 04 Jun 1765. Francis' Uncle or brother to Donald was John Mc Kay b. 03 Feb 1727 Watten, Caithness, married to an An Falconer 20 Dec 1767. Donald's & John's father was Patrick Mc Kay.


The maiden name of his 1st wife was Foss/Fuss/Friss, & her fathers 1st name was Philip. The children of Francis & this woman were - 1. Catherine,
2. Elizabeth, 3. Francis ( M ), 4. Margaret, 5. Mary, 6. Peter, & a possible
7th. Daniel b. 1798 Scotland - d. 1859 Welland, On., Canada, this is youur best lead!!!!!!!!

Eh Oznannie sorry I made this difficult!!!! I was hoping that the 2 could be tied together. If we are talking about 2 different famillies, please reply to Francis with the children listed. Parents for Francis, his 1st wife if possible & her parents.

I had a look in the parish records, Jeff, but not finding anything. I think you need a Mackay expert especially when you are so early on when the records are a little sparse. Wish I could help.
