Interesting that Francis and John were in their respective Air Forces... There doesn't appear to be a link between them.

There are Mellersh's in Godalming going back to 16/17C. Not having much luck with the Sussex one's though, not so well documented. If there is a link I would think it would precede Hubert Leaf's departure in 1885.

Nope i havent found anything else. I just cant link them so maybe its very distant or they just have the last surname.

This Mundia tree has a Richard Mellersh b. 1853 Lurgashall, about 20 miles N of Chichester. His Father was b. Chiddingfold about 6/7 miles S of Godalming. One of the descendants can be found in Chichester, I haven't looked in any detail at it yet.
