I just had a quick look at Frank's military records, interesting reading.

Looks like it. Seems Frank was the only one of the family to come to Australia.

I have more work to do on my tree now. :2fun:

I'll have to go through my whole tree searching for those who served to see if there is a photo.

Frank Ernest Dawkins was my great grandfather. How are you related to him?
If it is the same Frank, I have some info on him - what did you want to know?

From your previous post, Frank did have a brother who also came to Australia. His name was Arthur Alfred Dawkins.

John is a nephew of Evan HARRIS who married Catherine SANDS and I'm related to Catherine.

Thanks for that.

As far as my family knows - and this information was relayed to us by my grandmother (Franks daughter), is that Arthur was a crew member on a ship (name of the ship unkown) and Frank was a stow away on the ship. This is why there are no official records of them arriving in Australia.

The 1901 England census shows them still living in England then, but around 1905 they are shown as living in/around the Cottesloe/Fremantle suburbs of Perth.

I'm not sure if you have seen this website but it has all of Franks original scanned documentation from WW1, including being a POW and his relocation and release. http://mappingouranzacs.naa.gov.au/details-permalink.aspx?barcode_no=3492644

Just a correction that I mistyped before - it should have said 1915 not 1905 that shows them living in Perth.

I have a lot of info on Gertrude Marys family - there are a lot of Harris's around. I think there were about 8 kids in her family.

Thanks for the additional info - you don't have anything further on Franks parents do you? I don't have much about them.
