Hi, just joined today what a brilliant site, asked for a census look up got a reply not long after :)

Researching the names Woodhouse, from Ainderby steeple, morton on swale north yorkshire, and Stockton from (well not sure really), Frank Stockton married Mary Mcpherson 1897 in West Hartlepool Durham, their children were born in West Hartlepool, but for Frank haven't got a clue,
there was mention of Boston Mass, so i thought i would try the passenger lists for boston, low and behold there he was on the ship Bostonian in 1896,on the Saxonia in 1900,(with his wife and child), and on the Ivernia in 1904 (on his own)he was visiting his mother in Boston, so i don't know if he was born in England or not.

I have been on various sites, come up with nothing :( , if there is anyone out there that can point me in the right direction i would be eternaly grateful. ;D
Thanks,
Lighty.

Hi Lightly,

First of all have you the details of Franks marriage, as this will give his age
and fathers occupaton as well as name. This will be a good starting point for the census also his childrens names and years of birth would be helpful.

Hi Lightly,

Still working on Frank he's a bit hard to pin down. Found a Frank Stockton on the 1901 census even though he's not the same, age 22 single coal miner? but living in the next house is a family called Woodhouse, do you want the details?

Hi Lightly,

Still unable to locate Frank Stockton. Tried various ways. There is one on the 1891 census who's a lodger if you want the info let me know. There seems to be more stocktons in Lancashire and Cheshire with some who have connections to Americia ie visitors and no luck with Mary unless she was born in Scotland.

I will have a look at the info on Frank Stockton please,
I know when he went to Boston he went to visit his mother Caroline , and his brother don't know his name, (someone a while ago got me the print outs of the passeger lists to boston from ancestry) , so i thought i would try and have another bash at finding him, don't think i'm gonna have much luck.
haven't a clue where Mary was born maybe she was born in scotland.
Thanks
Lighty.
