Ok now keep up Dave, this gets a little confusing
[refer to shipping list for names]
Dolly and Isaac are your Frederick's grandparents. BUT i think Isaac is a step grandfather cause i reckon Dolly was married twice

Name: Frederick Parkes [ Birth of your Frederick's father]
Christening Date: 24 Jul 1814
Christening Place: SAINT PETER,DERBY,DERBY,ENGLAND
Father's Name: Edward Parkes
Mother's Name: Dolly

Name: Charlotte Parkes
Event Type: Christening
Event Date: 13 Oct 1811
Event Place: St Peter's Church, Derby, Derbyshire, England
Father's Name: Edward Parkes
Mother's Name: Dolly Parkes

Name: Susanna Parkes
Event Type: Christening
Event Date: 29 Jul 1810
Event Place: St Peter's Church, Derby, Derbyshire, England
Father's Name: Edward Parkes
Mother's Name: Dolly Parkes

So Dolly was married to a Edward Parkes but on the shipping list she is married to a Isaac Parkes. Maybe Edward and Isaac were brothers ? and she married Isaac after Edward died ??
A few names on that shipping list that were born in France and i cant find the birth indexes for them.

After all that i hope i havent done my head in over the wrong family :2fun::2fun: Im still trying to find something that will confirm things.

It's 2017.

I'll check it today.

I can't find a marriage for Edward or Isaac to a Dolly/Dorothy (nee WARD)

I can't find the family in 1841. Are they in France in 1841?

Dave

Hmmm...

There is a public tree with Frederick b. 1814 m. 1836 Lille, Nord, France spouse = Marie Francoise Sophie Waeghebaert [1808–1845]. There is a Charles Louis b. 1845, same year as Marie's alleged death,

There is an alleged English translation of the 1836 marriage, a little too large for on here, sent details [a couple of interesting bits].

If the above is true or close, they would indeed be in France in 1841, Possibly by virtue of this "Victoire Elise Parkes 1841–1906 BIRTH 14 SEP 1841 • Lille, Nord, France".

I can't see a Charles that young on the shipping list, but there is a Victoria.

Geoff
