Mon 17 Aug 1914
"died suddenly this morning at his residence, Waverley, at the advanced age of 80 years. The late Mr. Poppenhagen arrived in Sydney from Germany in May 1853, and went to Singleton in 1859."

Thanks gibbo.

They had a sister going by the funeral notices.

Richard Bramly/Bramley. Must be a daughter not the one who arrived from Germany.

Daughter born 1869.

Marriage 6003/1892 BRAMBY RICHARD H W J - POPPENHAGEN HENNIETTA - PADDINGTON

I had a look for Anna Lucinda Sharp and didn't find a birth or baptism around 1843 or her arrival.

I looked in all of England not just Devon.

Can't find a tree.

Arrived and married as Poppenhagen but changed his name in 1916.

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney, NSW) - Sat 8 Jun 1895 p.1
Marriages.
POPPENHAGEN - TOWNSEND.-On May 22, at the Manse, St. John's Church, Orange, by the Rev. W. G. Maconochie, M.A., Frederick Poppenhagen, jun., of the District Survey Office, Orange, to Caroline Louisa (Carrie), fifth daughter of the late Thomas Townsend, Esq., of Orange.

Caroline's father going by his obit arrived before 1848.

If the obit was wrong and if Thomas was the son on board that vessel then father on his death reg would have initials M A.

Several possible marriages for E Townsend after 1853 but not near Orange.

Would be good to know where that Townsend family ended up in NSW.

Thanks Geoff.

Thanks gibbo.

JCC arrived 1853 but we assumed his brother arrived at the same time.

Naturalization looks ok but name on the image reads as transcribed Pappasheim.
