Trying to find Frederick Walton born 1844 in Bethnal Green, married Amelia George in march 1865 in stepney.

Cannot find anytrace of them in 1881,1891 or 1900 disappeared of the face of the census!!

I have tried as many variations of Walton as I can think of, Halton, Walter.

So any help!

Peter

Hi,

I couldnt find Frederick and Amelia after 1871 on the cenuses. There is this death in 1914 - Frederick Walton born abt 1844 - District Hackney.
Also there is a Frederick and Caroline Walton on the 1901 and 1911 census Fredericks occ is given as bricklayer - married 40 years. So the death may be his.

No It was from Fredericks father my 4xGGF, I had thought I had him but a later look I realised that I had got the wrong one!
So I tried to find the right one.
Still not found a marriage to Caroline and also not found any of the children in the census!

More muddy waters!
Found a 1891 for Frederick and caroline as walston on Antree!
Now for the muddy bit?
In the 1871 Frederick Whallon 27 bricklayer
Amelia Whallon 27

I have also found :-
Frederick Halton 28 bricklayer
Caroline Shad 47
Charles Shad 15
Joseph Shad 13
Benjamin Shad 13
Margaret SHad 11
Almost fits for Caroline but number of children doesnt tally with the 1911.

Thanks for that Julie
It also looks as if there could have been an omission as well, the 258 schedule number and ticks aginast mary(9) and frederick!

Still a mystery as to where the 3 children went (1911 census 2 living 1 died)

After all this I think its dead in the water and will not answer my original quest that started the re examination of the walton family!

I was looking for a Martha Walton who was a witness at Charlotte Sinfield and Thomas Estcourt's wedding in 1891 in Edmonton.

I just cannot find a Martha in my Walton tree so I started to look at my Joseph Walton' brothers etc to find children! Back to the drawing board!

Hi Peter,

I could only find one child to Frederick and Caroline. Frederick William Baptised 1873. He married in Yarmouth occ seaman, sure its the same chap as his wife is in London in a later census.
