I'd like a look up please for the FRENCH family in W Lothian or Dunfermline in 1871. Probably Dunfermline because their third child Carl August was born Jul 1871 in Dunfermline, Fife.

George Henry b. ?
Christina Lind b. 1841 W Lothian
Janet Christina K b. 1863 Queensferry
Georgina Jane L b. 1865 Dunfermline

Thanks.

Dave

This is a transcription of the census as the image is not viewable and it does state mother and brother. There is probaly a mistake somewhere.

Hello juliejtp,

Thank you very much. That confirms that Christina's mother Janet (nee KELTIE) was born in Culross. Her age is way out:

From Death Certificate:
Death: 1879; Limekilns, Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland; widow of Alexander Anderson, letter carrier; age 81; parents John Keltie, seaman, deceased and Elizabeth Keltie M.S. Dundas, deceased; senile general debility & decay; witness Christina French, daughter.

James is an older brother.

James b. 16 Jan 1822 [FR1182 Child 2] Abercorn
Janet, Adam & Ann in between
Christina c. 23 Jan 1842 [FR1223 Child 6] Abercorn

The ANDERSON, KELTIE, SWAN and SANDS families make up a large part of my tree so I will have further queries.

Regards,

Dave

Hello juliejtp,

Thank you for looking. Christina would have been about 21 when she married in 1863. I doubt that is the George (aged 63) she married. It looks like we have another spouse who skipped the parish, county, country...

Regards,

Dave
