The image of James and Martha's marriage is available in the fs catalogue. The Vicar was J Slade and the withnesses were Wm. Garforth and Sarah Atherton. All Signed. Details of the fathers name and occupation not usually included until after Civil Registration in 1837.

Yes, thanks Emeltee. The moors bit gets dropped in later years.

Oh. 36x marriages 1820 - 1830 in Lancs for a Martha Taylor.

Just checked Lancs OPC for Martha Taylor baptisms 1803 +/- 5 and none for St Peter Bolton.

Can't see the marriage on SP or England.

Not on NSW or Vic. index.

There is another copy of Sophia's baptism in Vol 47 and mother's name is clearly Lawrie in that one.

Middle initial here for George not on baptism records.

Death 1986/1928 GARFORTH SOPHIA L - GEORGE A MARY - NORTH SYDNEY * 21 Jan 1928

Charlotte in two volumes

BELL CHARLOTTE MCM 5502/1844 V18445502 45B GEORGE A MARY

Now George has his initial.

http://www.nthsydgreenpc.pcnsw.org.au/history/ch1.htm

On January 10, 1882, the Reverend James Cosh, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of NSW, wrote Mr Allan Bell a receipt for a packet of papers and the equivalent of about $2100 in cash. With this transaction, the 40-year history of the Presbyterian school at North Sydney and its trustees was brought to an end.

To collect the materials, Rev Cosh probably made the journey to Lathallan, a property on the eastern side of West Street in what is now Crows Nest, between Falcon and Ernest Streets; George Bell, Allan Bell’s father, had died there the year before. Besides running a dairy and orchard for the previous 40 years, Bell senior had been an enthusiastic gardener:
