Why name a son Garnet Marcus/Marcus Garnet when Kathleen didn't die until 1942? Was Marcus who died 1952 the father?

Normally, I'd say work backwards from a death but I think work both ways from the middle with this one. :2fun:

From the 1900 birth reg it would seem that Elizabeth was unmarried at the time and the reg is in her maiden name.

Many of them appeared artful schemes for raising money. He appeared to be a thoroughly unscrupulous and reckless adventurer
