I can't find an Eva Davies born abt 1857 in 1861 on FS.

I can't find a George Gatfield born abt 1850 in 1861 on FS.

Samuel Davis 1821 Carpenter born Gloucesteshire
Jane wife 1831 born Llangattock, Brecknockshire
Eva daughter 1857 Llangattock juxta Caerlon, Monmouthshire
Clara daughter 1859 born same place as Eva

No expert on Welsh places so these may be totally wrongly spelled!

I have several examples in my tree of Davies being Davis on some census.

I've not found the marriage yet.

Eva Davies baptised 8 February 1857 Llanfihangel Gobion, Monmouthshire parents Samuel and Jane

Samuel Davies, 30, Wheelwright married Jane Sharp 25 13 February 1856 at Trevethin, Monmouthshire. His father James, a Wheelwright, her father Richard, a gardener. At the time of marriage they were both living in Pontypool

George Gatfield baptised Aston Ingham herefordshire, parents Henry and Mary. Abode Gosley, Newent

Henry Gatfield married Mary Anne Manning 20 December 1840 in Aston Ingham. His father William, her father Thomas. Both Labourers.

Can't find George Gatfield in 1861 - he is not with his parents. In 1871 he is lodging with Thomas Williams and family in Newport

Ok, I see you are chasing the "Staniford" Gatfield line from 1857, whereas my George arrived with Mum Eva and sister Clara Odessa in 1910, so far I have found no connection as your line originated in London and mine from GLS/Hef/Wor area near the bMalvern Hills. Regards, Garry
