Genealogy Tree Software

Do those experienced in such matters, have knowledge of family tree building software that is not linked to hosting or forms of other ongoing fees.

I would like to purchase software outright that I can build on when I get the free time and can also send to other relatives to view, print etc. The only software I come up with is on-line software that advertises as being free when really they are evaluation copies, or designed for posting to web sites.

Once I have compiled something I do not mind posting it on the web however that maybe a while in the future.

I use Family Historian I think that version four has just been released I am using version 3.1 and am very happy with it!

FamilySearch.org has a facility where you can download a Personal Ancestral File and you can add your family tree details and upload it to the internet as a GEDCOM and I think you can share it.
