Without knowing too much about all this, and having information on my welsh family background which has totally confused me, is there an easy way of finding out who lived in a certain property for the 1901 census, with just the surname of Evans?
Damned skeletons!!!!

47 MADELINE STREET
PONTYGWAITH
RHONDDA
SOUTH WALES

It is the address my grandfather used when he got married, which fascinates me. However, during my childhood, I remember going to that house and memory says it was connected to my family.
That's all I know.
Merci beaucoup; danke schoen; diolch yn fawr or thanks.

Dave, my most grateful thanks, but now the plot thickens somewhat because in 1905 when Evan John Evans married Emma Hannah Davies that was the address he used..............so an assumption is that the Davies's left that property after the census. None of the names listed have any relevance to what I know of the Davies Family on my side. As I said,............skeletons who needs them?:biggrin:

Hi
When my father and mother got married they said they were living at a friends house. This was to enable them to qualify for living in the same parish as the church they were to be married in.

Just for you to check - after the marriage this was the family living at no 47
Edward Paughan 45
Annie 44
Winifred An 17
Ivor 12
Gladys 10
and a lodger Morgan Davies 51
