A couple of trees are split between NZ and Sussex, the Sussex one is b. abt 1902 probably a bit too late..

The NZ one a bit dodgy too, but the trees have the marriage/death details correct..

1899/1906 Howse Thomas Geoffrey, Elizabeth & David

No suitable marriage in NZ.

Interestingly one of the trees has Elizabeth Morton as mother, there is a NZ marriage, though father David..

A couple more siblings, may be a different family with similar forenames!

1902/1966 Howse David Leslie Wilson, Elizabeth & David
1903/167 Howse Helen Caroline Elizabeth & David

David (father) also looks to have been born in NZ.

Thanks Geoff.

My reaction is that if the informant didn't know the name why say Leslie?

I have no age at death for Geoffrey so I put Alma's birth there as a guide.

Looks like no children with middle name to help us.

The Sydney Morning Herald - 29 March 1983
DEATHS
HOWSE Alma May (nee Bensley).-March 27, 1983, at nursing home, Mudgee, dearly beloved sister of Ivy, Norman, Eric, Aubrey, Victor, Dudley (deceased) and Neville (deceased), and much loved aunt of their children, aged 83 years. At rest.

Thanks Geoff.

That's a help with age and adds the death date I didn't have.

Thanks Geoff.

So it seems the death reg is probably correct with parents as Leslie and Elizabeth but marriage not yet found.

I thought HOWSE was an uncommon name but Ryerson index has over 100 entries including this one:

HOWSE David Leslie (Buddy) Death notice 18SEP2006 Death Sydney Morning Herald 20SEP2006

The other odd thing is the place of marriage - Merriwa

Looks like Alma's parents moved from Camden to Mudgee 1930-1936.

Yes, seems odd if he was born NZ.

One tree says it's actually Cassilis.

I've looked at WWI and WWII service records and no clues there.
