The children match the death notice except for Clifford. He was a son by a previous marriage.

So if the family was from Aberdeen why were two sons born in Dublin?

Can their reg be found there to prove it?

If he came to Australia as a young man how is it that he marries in Dublin in 1866? The initials W. and G. for his two sons fit those born in Dublin.

The Sydney Morning Herald - Thursday 3 September 1925 p.12
DEATH OF MR. W. S. PARK.
Mr. William Stewart Park, for many years a well-known Pitt-street chemist, died at his home in Albert-avenue, Chatswood, on Tuesday evening, aged 81 years.
Mr. Park, who was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, came to Australia as a young man, and spent two years in Melbourne, before taking up permanent residence in Sydney.
...
Mr. Park was twice married. He is survived by a widow and two sons, Messrs. W. and G. Park, both of Sydney.
...

There are about 5 possible William PARKs in Aberdeen in 1851. No parents on his death reg so we are stuck. Born abt 1844, married in Dublin in 1866, sons born in Dublin in 1868 and 1870, then arrived in Australia (lived in Victoria first) 'as a young man' at 36+. ???

Married twice. Was Mary the 1st or 2nd? Possible for location but not for age.

Death 2793/1929 PARK MARY A - CHARLES 73 YRS CHATSWOOD CHATSWOOD

I can't find a notice in TROVE.

Thanks gibbo. ;)

According to the newspaper W S senior died on 1 Sep not 2 Sep and date of death for junior is way off. He died in 1936 not 1968.

If he arrived in say 1884, that is at age 40, then I'm puzzled by the ref to 'young man' in the obit.

No, I'm not getting a copy of G A's death certificate in the hope it says how many years he had been in the colony.

One thing. The 1901 marriage was G A's 2nd - son Clifford from his 1st.

25201/1898 PARK CLIFFORD R - GEORGE A - EVA - RYDE

5776/1979 PARK CLIFFORD RAYMOND - GEORGE ALEXANDA - EVA

7500/1894 PARK GEORGE A - BLACKMAN EVA - WOLLONGONG

Someone is bound to think it if not say it.

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 6 October 1894 p.1
MARRIAGES
PARK-BLACKMAN.-September 19, at the residence of the bride's father, by the Rev. Richard Miller, B.A., George Alexander Park, younger son of William S. Park, Forest Lodge, to Eva, daughter of John Blackman, Farmborough, Unanderra.

Looks like I need to look up some early Electoral Rolls for lots in my tree, not just this lot.

So it looks like 1884 - 1894.

Unassisted to Victoria
PARK W MR 48 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016
PARK WM 11 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016

Age for William senior does not fit. Oh, this lot rules them out:

PARK —- MRS 48 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016
PARK DAVID 7 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016
PARK M MISS 15 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016
PARK ROBERT 9 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016
PARK S MISS 17 - DEC 1888 ORIENT B 507 016

Hello Ozwendy22,

welcome to FHUK

I'm not a direct descendant but have PERDRIAU in my tree by marriage to FURNER.

Just trying to make sense of the PARK family re 'Presbyterian from Aberdeen' and the registrations from Dublin.

Regards,

Dave

Neil is a descendant of George Alexander Park.

Let me know if this does not work out and I will look through my fathers records for you. Wendy
