Can't find anything on George Bell born Fife, but I have found a possible baptism for Mary Laurie

Mary Laurie bapt. 1 March 1815 Duns, Berwick. Parents John Laurie and Elizabeth Salmon

John Laurie married Elizabeth Salmon 8 September 1810 in Duns

Thanks Emeltee.

A maybe.

The 1812 may not be accurate but I think the parents names on death reg should be correct.

It would seem Mary was named after her mother Mary Nisbet.

One on FS

John Lowrie
Christening Date 3 Nov 1812 ABBEY SAINT BATHANS, BERWICK
Father's Name Alexander Lowrie

I had better check that name further. No other hits for Lowrie.

Thanks Val.

Didn't know there was a younger son.

Thanks Geoff.

Dunno. If parents on death reg are correct then nothing in SP fits.

Thanks gibbo.

That would mean a marriage to Mary in Australia. Age is way out for born 1800.

... Henry Allan, tenant since 1867 of Burnbank Cottage; neighbour, probably cousin, of George Bell. They had arrived in the colony on the same ship ...
Can't see a Henry Allan/Allen on the same Roxburgh Castle.

Death ALLAN HENRY 13434/1893 AGNES - ST LEONARDS

ALLAN Henry Death notice 24FEB1893 Death 84 late of North Sydney Sydney Morning Herald 27FEB1893
ALLAN Henry Death notice 24FEB1893 Death 84 late of North Sydney Sydney Morning Herald 25FEB1893

ALLAN.—February 24, at his residence, Burnbank,
Falcon-street, North Sydney, Henry Allan, aged 84 years.

The new name was Henry Allan, tenant since 1867 of Burnbank Cottage; neighbour, probably cousin, of George Bell. They had arrived in the colony on the same ship; Allan had been successful enough as a pastoralist to live now on has investments; he could describe his occupation as ‘gentleman’ for the rest of his life.
Can't find an obituary. Still don't know what year or on what ship they arrived.
