I can't find his birth reg neither Dave. Could he possible altered his year of birth to join up?? QLD index only go to 1922 and maybe he was born 1923?
You got a name for his mother?

Cairns Post (Qld.) - Thu 7 Dec 1939 p.8
Innisfail Ambulance
Falling from a bicycle yesterday George Blackley (17), shop assistant for Cairns Timber Ltd., at Innisfail, suffered a fractured left collarbone, abrasions and contusions to the left hip, also shock. The Ambulance gave first-aid and took him to hospital.

George could have been born later as there is a big gap to Peter.

Yes, that's right.

George senior only had one brother and he died in France in 1817 so Peter has to be a son of George. I can't see any other way he fits in.

A neighbour with a high pressure cleaner is due soon so I'll be away for awhile.
