MRS. C. A. HILL. [FROM OUR. OWN COUUF.SI'ONnENT.] PUKEKOIIE. Monday. The death occurred at Pukckohe yesterday of Mrs. Charlotte Annie Hill, an early settler of the Huuua district. Mrs. Hill was born at Guernsey, in the Channel Islands, and came to Now Zealand with her sister at the age of 16 years, in the sailing ship Queen of the Age. She was married after four years' residence in Auckland to Mr. George Hill, a farmer, of TTunua. In 1899, her husband died and Mrs. Hill was left with 11 children. With the aid of the elder ones she carried on tho farm. About 18 years ago Mrs. Hill retired to Papakura, and about 12 years ago sho moved to Pukekohe, living for the. greater part of the time in West Street. Following an illness about two years' ago she took up residence with her daughter, Mrs. G. R. Wright, of Pukckohe. Mrs. Hill was all her life an ardent worker in Presbyterian Church affairs.• She is survived by three sons and seven daughters. One son was killed during the war. There are 20 grandchildren and and one great-grandchild.
