I only have the image for that one so far so can't check 1845 v. 1846 re post #6.

Very unusual baptism with sponsors on the copy sent to the Registrar General. Normally they are not part of the requirement of details for the Church to supply from the original register.

Page -
Baptisms Administered in the Parish of St. Thomas in the County of Macquarie in the Year 1846
No. - When Baptised: April 18th 1846 When Born: April 25th 1845 George Irvine - William & Jane Scott Abode: McLeay River Quality or Profession: Cedar Merchant By whom the Ceremony was performed: C Woodward Sponsors: The Mother, Charles Ducat, Agnes Ducat

I was not sure about the word 'Cedar' but it is correct.

Mr. M. T. McPhillips, of the
Great Northern Hotel, Kempsey,
reminded us of the record cedar
tree (Cedrersa Australis) taken
from- Nulla Nulla, Upper Macleay,
in 1882. This tree, known locally
as the Sauer Cedar, was 48ft. in
circumference ten feet from the
ground, and yielded 80,000 super
feet of sound timber.

That reg entry is correct in that it was normal for the year in the index to be the year of birth.
