MR. GEORGE ELVERY.
The late Mr. George Elvery, who died in Sydney on February 29 last, was very well known in the Bundaberg and Toowoomba districts. He was born in Alkham, County Kent, England, and came to Queensland with his parents at the age of 11 years. Mr. Elvery's parents. proceeded to Bundaberg and settled in that city when Bundaberg was only a small hamlet. Mr. Elvery himself resided in Bundaberg for a number of years-and he subsequently came to Toowoomba with his faml'y. Altogether he lived in Queensland, principally in Toowoomba and Bundaberg for 47 years. About three years ago, he and his wife w#nt to Sydney to reside. During last week, Mr. Elvery underwent an operation but he failed to rally and, as stated, he died on th,e 29 th of last month. The "burial took place in Sydney. Deceased is survived by a widow, two daughters, and one son, Mr. A. Elvery, who is well known in motoring circles in Toowoomba. Mr. W. A. Elvery received an urgent message from Sydney but he arrived in that city too late to bid farewell to his father. Mr. Elvery returned to Toowoomba by the mail train yesterday afternoon.
