George Joyce 16 Luckington

1861
RG9 Piece 1683 Folio 5 Page 3
Civil Parish: English Combe
County: Somerset
Registration District: Bath
Sub-RD: Twerton
Address: Haycombe farm, Englishcombe
George Joyce Head Unm 45 ? [25] Farmer of 4-6 acres Kilmersdon
Hariet Joyce mother widow 65 Independent Kilmersdon
Hannah Ford sister 28 Farmer's wife Kilmersdon
Sarah Florence Ford niece 2 Bath

One tree has a death for George as 24 Oct 1893, but no place.

I'd like a look up please for George in 1871 and for his death. I can only find a George born Wells married with a 16 year-old son in 1871. That does not fit.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,
QLD BMD has:
1893 C3589 George Joyce Alfred Joyce Harriett Joyce
The Brisbane Courier Wed 25 Oct 1893
Funeral Notice - The friends of Mr Thomas Baynton Ford are respectufully invited to attend the funeral of his deceased Brother-in-law Mr George Joyce to move from his residence Sefton Estate Clayfield this afternoon 25 October at 2 oclock for the Nundah Cemetery.
Burial details - Grave 197, Section 5, Portion 6.

His sister Hannah Ford age 28 arrived Qld on "Fiery Star" 20 Nov 1864.
found this on Ancestry..
Dayboro story of the first 100 years 1866-1966. Selectors - Rush Creek, Thomas Baynton Ford and George Joyce.
Thomas Baynton Ford, wife Hannah Joyce and children Sarah and Mercy travelled from Somerset England on the Fiery Star arriving in Moreton Bay on 20 Nov 1864. Another 2 children Alfred Joyce and Tom Baynton were born to the couple in Brisbane.
On 19 May 1868 Ford selected 160 acres of pastoral land in Whiteside (Portion 7). The property was located at a spot known as "Rush Paddock". within a few years documents listed improvements to the site as
Dwelling House and stockyards, 5 acres felled and burned off, garden fenced in with paling fence and 160 acres fenced in with a good substantial split fence.
In 1876 Ford selected a further 240 acres (Portion 93) By 1891 he was living outside the district at "Sefton Estate" Clayfield. Portion 7 was sold to William Ruddle in 1905 and transferred to William Bradey Jnr in 1918. Portion 93 was transferred to Ford's son Tom in 1898 and remained in his ownership until 1916 when it was sold to John Raynbird? of Narangba.

regards
Val

George was in Queensland by 1868 so he arrived 1861 - 1868. I can't see him on the Assisted to NSW or to Queensland list.
