Hi John bit confused, if the brother was a Sutherland then he would be Margaret's brother, not George Macadie's??

hi sorry my use of computer time is very sporadic we have a coffee bar called the red wizard in totnes, devon and with summer coming it is getting busy now the family is divided into two section yet are close. my mother was from the family Sutherland, they and the macadie group up there were closely linked and hence the use of one surname as a Christian name and attached to macadie. so I was told.
sildy was the nickname given, for what reason I do not know as I am only working on the discussions of my mother and father, George macadie and my mom Margaret Sutherland, so he would have been my moms brother in law.
my father talked about meeting him in Southampton docks and he went on a boat to new Zealand and my father went on a boat to Canada. both as stow-aways so records on the boat and in and out of countries would be minimal.
their mother died and that is why my father came back hearing she was ill whether sildy did I don't know.
regards john
ps. my full name is after their father, my grandfather on that side, so I was told...john Thomas Dixon macadie
