Thanks gibbo.

That would fit. A grandson was born at Grafton:

Birth 6997/1857 MORRIS MALE - JESSE - ANNE - GRAFTON ** 23 Oct

But not a witness to his son's marriage:

Marriages solemnized in the District of Clarence River in the Year 1855
No. 71
Jesse John Morris of the District of Clarence River, Bachelor
Anne Crabbe of the same District, Spinster
married in usual place of public worship Eatonsville by Licence with consent of Parents
Twenty fifth day of October 1855 By me Arthur E. Selwyn Minister of the District of Clarence River
Both by their mark
Witnesses: Wm. Southern of First Falls, Mary (her x mark) Timmins of Eatonsville

The marriage says with consent of parents - I wonder if that means 3 parents if Betsy died in England.

I've not looked at George before. Just found out from shipping record that he had arrived first.

No idea if he remarried or if Betsy also came to NSW.

I'll continue tomorrow.

No deaths in NSW with father = John and mother = Betsy/Betsey

No death for a Betsy/Betsey MORRIS

The NSW BMD is not returning any hits for a marriage search so can't find a possible remarriage for George.
