MORTON, George Head Mar M 45 Overlooker of Woollen Factory Kirkburton Yorkshire
MORTON, Ann Dau Unm F 22 Kirkburton Yorkshire
MORTON, Wright Son M 0 (1 WKS) ?[1 year] Kirkburton Yorkshire

Here the parish is Cartworth yet in post #2 father George is in parish Wooldale ???

George is listed as married in 1851. Charlotte died in 1839 and he married Harriet in Nov 1851. Was there a marriage in between?

Or Wright is not with his father in 1861. Who is Wright's (birth registered Mar Qtr 1850) mother?

Name: Wright Morton

Wright Merton
Birth Date: 31 Dec 1849
Parish: Holmfirth, Holy Trinity
Baptism Date: 5 Sep 1852
Father: John Merton
Mother: Ellen Merton

Looks as though Wright's age should be 1y, not 1 week in 1851 as quote...

Births Q1 1850

So Wright's parents are John/Ellen, not George/Ellen.

You're right, there is something wrong

Unless Wright is staying with George/Harriet in 1851 and there is an error between George/John as father.

Geoff

Thanks Geoff, I think.

So we don't know several things. My first reaction is that there must be 2x Wright.

Dave

The 1850 reg and the baptism with parents John & Ellen probably match. If the age is correct in the census then we are wrong in saying it should be 1 year to match the reg. Perhaps there is no reg for that one and no middle marriage for George. Then there should be two deaths for a 'Wright' but probably more.

Yes, two deaths and neither fit:

Deaths Jun 1890
Morton Wright 75 or 73 Leeds 9b 339

Deaths Mar 1951
MORTON Wright 69 Spen Valley 2d 612

Two more:

Deaths Jun 1864
MORTON Wright Manchester 8d 163 or 168

This one fits for age:

Deaths Dec 1913
Morton Wright 63 Ashton 8d 656
