Well-known member
Is it possible to get more info about this person on the 1861 Census:-

Name: George Williams

Event Date: 1861
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Relationship to Head of Household:
Birthplace: Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Record Type: Vessel
Registration District: British Ships In Home Ports
Ecclesiastical Parish:
Civil Parish:
County: British Ships In Home Ports
Source Citation

I'm wondering if he may be my missing Henry KNOTT who changed his name to George WILLIAMS and married in 1865 in Gloucester as WILLIAMS. He was born as Henry KNOTT c1839 Cleobury Mortimer but may have changed his name and disappeared through family problems.

I have found him on every other Census except 1861. 1841-1851 he is Henry KNOTT, 1871 he is George H WILLIAMS, 1881 - 1911 he is Henry KNOTT.

Would there be any Naval/Military records to check for him?
