Hi. Is there anyone out there who is researching Gertrude Mary Wright b 1861 Wednesbury Staffs? This lady married James Springate in 1878 in Burnley. It appears she was appearing in music halls and may have been known as Gertie Sterling. She began her career as a clog dance and later became a singer and comedienne. She moved to London with James and had 3 children, it looks like she spent a lot of time away from her husband as James, his daughter Daisy and son Henry James appear often on workhouse records. Think she and James finally split @ 1901. I am trying to find anything out about her life, and her parents. Would love to swap info with someone who is looking into this family
