Gibbo's right in path of cyclone

#1
Just spoke Gibbo on phone, she's bunkered down with hubby in a safe room in her home.

This size cyclone has never been seen before, we always get 2 or 3 each year but not of the size and intensity of this one, overall it is about 500 klm across overall with the eye at 50 metres and will cover a huge area, besides the severe winds at 300 klm at hour there is a flood surge of 7 metres expected as well.

Gibbo says she's well prepared in her safe room with her computer [she loves her computer] and says she'll come come straight back on forum and let us all know how they fared when the worst is over.

May God bless them all

WE won't know until dawn just how much damage, no one allowed outside,
i imagine they'll find devastation once cyclone dies down, strongest and most violent cyclone ever seen.

Largest cyclone ever to hit Aussie or anywhere else, must be global warming causing this and the drastic floods.

Authorities tell of phone calls received of severe damage and deaths, but can't go out to help.

Water over rooves of houses near ocean,we always get cyclones every year but not like this monster.

I'm personally very worried about Gibbo and hubby, at least cylone will start to wind down as it starts to move inland

I'll post more as info comes to hand.

Thanks so much for the good news - rubbish coverage on TV here really considering the severity of it and all the rellies with real concern. 10pm news was mostly a repeat of the bulletin four hours earlier - best update, good or bad, is on here, so cheers for that. :)
All the very best Gibbo, and everyone else in the storm.

Thank you everyone. We are all safe. Tho we didnt cop the brunt of it, it was one of the most awful nights. Trees down everywhere, including a tree on a caravan in the yard across the road from us. I didnt lose my power, it flickered a few times but hung in there but my daughter on the other side of town lost hers.
I have several sheets of corrugated iron that come from somewhere and some tree branches that dont belong to me in my back yard.
We are still experiencing strong winds and are still not allowed to venture outside but this should settle by lunch time and will then be able to see then check more throughly the outside of the house.

Such a relief to hear that - there'll no doubt be a few suggestions of what to build with your unexpected sheets of stuff Gibbo - all to lighten the mood of your worrying time :) Take good care, hope your damage is minimal but the main thing is you're safe
