hi to anyone who can help me,im looking for a william goody born 1879 in scotland,he married a mary a roberts in 1914 in wolverhampton but if you can help me find out who his mom and dad were and where in scotland he was born i would be most grateful,im really stuck on getting and info on scotland all i know is in 1901 he lived in bilston and worked in an iron works but anything you can find would be great thanks

In order to be certain you are following the correct William Goody it would be necessary to have some identifiers other than name and year of birth. Does his marriage in England by any chance name his father or his father's occupation? The Scottish statutory vital records are available to search and view online for a small fee at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk A search for any Goody at all born in a 10 year time span from 1875-1885 only turns up 3 in the whole country and only one of them is a William and it just so happens this William was born in 1879. It has all the markings of being a match for your William but without tracking this family forward or already knowing parent names from your end you can't be sure. If you purchase a view of the birth record it will contain the information of the parents names, occupation, and date and place of marriage. I hope its yours!
