Using Walker by 1911, emigration date to the US. Looks to be traveling with a Wilhelmina West [27], trees have her as a sibling. No sign of a James, maybe he went there first [1920 census has his emigration date as 1911 also]

So his mother is a mystery. I can't find a baptism so have no idea if part of same West family.

If I found the death for that Catherine then ... ?? Or if I found her in 1841 before she married. ?

Must be that to explain the middle name Hastings. You don't get middle names at birth when siblings marry 20 years later.

If Catherine born abt 1823 was third daughter then named after her mother.

Mary as second ? daughter then William's mother's name.
