grandfather where did he die ???

John simpson Stewart born 1883, married to Frances Stewart- nee Husband born Dalhouse,Cockpen ,Midlothian (06/02/1903). They had a daughter - Esther byres Stewart, 23/05/1906 at 7 Robertson Bank, Gorebridge,Midlothian,my grandmother.
John simpson stewart, was killed in WW1, I do not know where,but could be 1916 and not in europe,and don't know his regiment.
on my grandmother death cert it has her father john simpson stewart as a private of the royal scots (deceased

Hi Braveheart,

There are some John S Stewarts on the medal rolls, as you have given that he was in the Royal Scots, this could be his medal card information.

Hi julie I don't know where he was born,but could give you information on his parents.
His father also john stewart ( game keeper) in Pitmachie, Aberdeenshire, married
catherine mcdonald (24/06/1881) in Little Dunkeld,I think Strathtay.
after that they must of move to Gorebridge but thats all I have

Hi julie I have gone to the national archive site, this is my ggrandfather.
It was a real pleasure speaking with you,so helpful and I can't thank you enough, for helping me. Now I have a story to write.

Wondering if this is his death, seeing that googling his name and a posting came up with his year of death 1916, place Southern Iraq.
