My maternal grandfather William Menzies GRAY, a plumber, migrated to South Africa from Edinburgh (Portobello) in the late 1800s. His father, Adam GRAY (m. Margaret DAVIE) was a master plumber (1901 address 65 Promenade, Portobello, Edinburgh, 1871 address 5 Leven Terrace). Adam was the son of John GRAY (Gamekeeper / Baron Officer according to census returns) and Pringle SANDERSON. I'd love some info on my grandfather's siblings, especially his brother John Davie GRAY, who probably had an earlier marriage before being widowed and for a while at least also lived in South Africa, and married his brother's sister-in-law (my grandmother's sister). According to various sources, my grandfather's siblings were John Davie GRAY (b. 1860), Agnes M GRAY (about 1862), Janet Pringle GRAY (1864), George Davie GRAY (1866), Adam GRAY (1869), Margaret Simpson Davie GRAY (1874 - I have details of her marriage to MILLER and subsequent family), Clarkson C GRAY (About 1876), Isabelle E GRAY (about 1878), Adeline F GRAY (about 1879) and Caroline GRAY (about 1882).
